Some have called our project a consciousness raising movement, a noble cause, while others have simply said, “It is a monument that must be built, and built now!” The message is clear - its impact will be profound. Your involvement is eagerly anticipated.

Rarely in a person’s lifetime does a project of such magnitude, such importance and such timeliness present itself. The Statue of Responsibility is such a project! While national in scope, international in impact, yet very personal in meaning, the Statue of Responsibility project stands alone in its uniqueness and significance at this time in history.

The Statue of Liberty has served as a symbol of liberty, both in America and throughout the world. Its counterpart, the Statue of Responsibility, will likewise serve as a symbol - a visible representation and call to responsibility - both in America and abroad. These two principles - liberty and responsibility - when linked together, will help engender and secure freedom for the present generation, and for generations yet unborn, wherever a thirst for freedom exists. Only by balancing Liberty with Responsibility can Freedom be sustained.

As you review our website, you will notice several national and international dignitaries who are now involved in the Statue of Responsibility project. Our Foundation has secured, and continues to invite, broad-based involvement from “Friends of Freedom” in all nations, faith traditions, political persuasions, business communities, and individuals of every age, gender, and race.

While we pay the highest respect to Dr. Viktor E. Frankl, who advanced the idea for building the Statue of Responsibility some forty years ago, the Statue of Responsibility monument will not be a shrine to Viktor Frankl, the man. Rather, it will be his sublime idea that responsibility must go hand in hand with liberty that will be enshrined in this monument - clearly visible to all for ages to come.
